ILSF has developed and is making available to CPR/AED instructors several versions of a new “CPR/AED Qualification Card”. These cards are not intended to replace required ”certification cards” but rather are supplemental and will provide each person who completes a CPR/AED program with an ongoing, positive reinforcement message that they can do CPR and use an AED.
Certification cards are usually kept in a file, wallet or drawer but ILSF’s “Qualification Cards” are designed to be displayed and constantly visible. (On the walls of offices or cubicles they can also identify trained emergency responders.)
Neither of these tools is the “ultimate answer” to help students in maintaining the comfort and confidence needed to actually respond to a sudden death event; but, we sincerely believe that they can and will play a significant role in helping to develop and maintain the “Affective Domain” so vitally needed by infrequent responders.
